This is not new

Many years ago Spitting Image did a puppet of Jesus and inspite of complaints by Christian groups about this being blasphemous the producers took no notice. However when various muslim groups voiced objections, the Jesus puppet was never seen again. (This was also the time of the fatwah against Salmund Rushdie for his book the Satanic Verses).

But the question is, what gives the producers the right to trample over the deeply held religious beliefs of others?

Why did it have to take intervention by muslims to make the Spitting Image producers to realise this when they treated Christians with contempt?

Tranatlanic liners are the obvious answer to these woes - every post by sticks is a comedy classic. Try watching South Park vs not showing image of the prophet and Cartman trying to use it as nudge room to get Family Guy banned from TV forever. Sticks try mentioning how many times they take the pee out of Jesus who becomes a regular character. Seriously Sticks, keep watching the stars, there is a life for you out there somewhere where Cyber Warriors rule the planet Loon.

Back in Spitting Image times the aliens were calling on your Cyber Warrior abilities for your destiny. Feel da Force big man (PS - sorry to disappoint, Michael Knight's car couldn't really talk and think back in the 70s, it was just a voiceover.............now I feel like the boy who stole Santa Claus from Sticks).

Most youngStars are into Facebook Ruth and having virtual farm/numbers of friends. I luved when South Park took the pee out of this and did the Facebook/Tron episode.

But they did copy taking the pish out of Sarah Jessica Parker who Family Guy started on by saying she had a face that looks like a foot and should be banned from TV.

Exactly. We don't need permission to take the mick out of religion. It's a given. By denying that, Sticks has basically managed to turn the concept of free speech into an oxymoron in his post. It's either free speech or it's not.
