It's utterly shocking and perplexing, let's hope the baby is taken out of her care and put with someone who could take care of them properly.

I think it's sad because even though she would have turned out to be a terrible mother anyway, now that child has to worry about life in the care system.

Nah chances are after a social services investigation the child will go on the at risk register, the parents will have to undergo some form of parenting course and after a suitable period they will remove the name from the register.

In the meantime the child will probably stay with its parents.
