Not liking this launch night twist tbh, would have just prefered them to pick the right housemates instead we will get the usual boring people who get to go in, Suzie (BB7) with the golden ticket as an example.

Yeah, as has already been said, this idea could completely backfire.

They, and we, better fucking hope that they've picked 100 [or whatever number] great candidates.

Ohhh I hope this goes well.

So, what, there's going to be some sort of contest and the viewers decide who goes in the house? Hmm...

Another flaw in this is that we won't get the usual "Here's housemate number one!", -roll VT-, -housemate enters-, etc.

It'll all be different, and for the last series. Doesn't sound great...

Is this confirmed or what? Sounds like a mess waiting to happen and I don't see how they would control that many people. Keeping them quiet up til the night? Huh!

Plus they'd be taking a HUGE GAMBLE with who they ended up with. Don't think they'd risk that for the final series. Plus how could they do checks on all those people? They have to look into their backgrounds and do psychological checks n sh!t.

All sounds off to me.

I think it sounds exciting!

I dont think they will have to compete but probably just get told they are entering so we can see the shock on their faces!

Stop with the negativity this could be awesome

Couldnt it be that they already have the decided housemates, and they will be 'selected' by Big Brother on the live launch. No tasks, just a new way of sending them in. That is what I got from the press release.

Hm, wouldn't mind that so much I guess. But we'd still be missing out on the cars/VT's...would be a shame to break the tradition.

But it has been tried before. It's just a larger scale mix of BB10 Non-HM launch and the golden ticket escapade from BB7.
They were both bad - what makes them think doing it again with more people would make it work?

May have been bad to you, but I liked Golden Ticket.

Short sighted. It might make the actual launch night exciting but this is a marathon not a sprint.

You need to ensure you have a cast that will work well together and not have too many similar types. This method is a gamble. We could have 5 butch chauvinists and 6 braindead bimbos. Yawn.

Kate Conway's latest tweet:

Quote:
RT @TheSunTVBiz: Launch date set for Big Brother: THE reality show returns on June 9 but only half wannabes will land a place in house h ...
And the Guardian's take on it:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2010...brother-series

So I think Daniel Lewis is right...

I guess Amy Green wont be going in now

You just know all the fit girls will be too worried about their nails and wont fight as hard for it.
We will end up with fit women, when I say Fit Women I mean women like Angel McKenzie who are actually FIT, not Stephanie McMichael or Sophie Reade Fit.

Well the quantity of housemate hopefuls hasn't been confirmed but they have said that there are more of hopefuls than housemates and they find out their fate in front of the crowd.

It doesn't say if they will have to perform tasks or fight it out to go in. It just says they will be selected.

The producers may have pre-selected and are just going to do the selection live so we see the dejected faces of the others

The only way I could see this working is if they run the launch normally, but instead of the HMs entering to their VT they go into a holding area. The public then vote for who to go in and we see the winners entering on a second show 30 mins later.

You can forget 100 potentials.

Maybe 25-30 at most. What would they do with 85 distraught rejects? Davina would be mob lynched!

All articles [that I can see] and Kate Conway are saying half of them will be sent home.

So assuming that 16 go in, there will be 32 candidates. 14 go in, 28 candidates, etc.

Me either but on the plus side, i suppose we wont get any leaked HM's going into this house, but thats only good thing about this twist.

zippy if you had read my post correctly it says that i think the housemates have already been chosen therefor its not a competition/gamble

If this is the case then we will have a mix of housemates as usual.
