No country or social group is 'represented' on BB.

Individuals are put in, who just happen to be from places or a social minority, but are only representing themselves.

It's not BBs job to care about how individuals make others think of their country or minority tbh.

sometimes yes I agree, only cos we want to like the person as they're from our country and then mostly we end up disappointed

But the fact that non Irish people choose to put "Irish" in front descriptive words about those HMs doesn't help matters either, eg. The Irish bitch, The Irish ***** etc etc

Yeah, but when it's just the token Irish person on the show each year, and usually they're complete and utter idiots I think it's right to cringe and vent a little at Big Brother's woeful selections.

I think it's much better than mr or miss nice and perfect from Ireland. Like it would be in an American show. I think it shows every country has people who are twats. Caoimhe may not be a nice person. But she is not a sterotypical stupid but harmless rural fool. She is a person. That can only be a good thing.

plus if you look at all the Irish HMs down through the years, they were all very different so whether they were twats or not, it shows that we're not all the same!

The old view of the Irish as simple country people. Who are too stupid to even be nasty. Even a Nasty BB house mate dispels this myth.

This why I think by far the worst Irish HM was Seany from BB8. He played the role of the simple and innocet irish boy every time things got hard for him or he was confronted by someone.

I dont like Caoimhe. But she does not do that.
