So Shay Given is going to be a bench warmer for the rest of the season? That's a bloody disgrace.

He's gonna have to fight for his place fair and square, Hart's in the best form by about a mile.

Hart's doing brilliantly, but Shay Given is one of the best keepers in the country and would be on basically any other Premiership starting 11.

He was dropped just because of his age and the fact that Hart is one for the future, nothing more. It's very sad when a player of his quality has to sit out for the rest of the season when so many clubs are dying to have him.

I do agree he shouldn't be on the bench as he's a top keeper, but as he's behind Hart in the pecking order at Man City I'm shocked he didn't hand in a transfer request... Arsenal are in desperate need of a top keeper as well, I'm suprised they didn't come in for him as their chase of Mark Schwarzer was clearly failing lol

That's my whole point. He did want to leave but Man City wont let him.

But hes not the worlds best keeper.

Which people make him out to be.. there is quite a few who are better thats all.

I disagree to be honest with you. He's defo one of the best in the world. I mean, can you even remember a mistake he's made in the last few years?

As for the transfer stuff and his unwillingness to move to Fulham: sure the only reason he left Newcastle - a club he loves - was to play at the highest level, but City wont allow him to move to a big club. They're notorious for that kinda thing now.

He needs to go to a big club in the big leagues, and there is only really Arsenal and United that need a keeper

Probably AC Milan too

Yeah because city are bent on winning. and would never sell to a club better than themself.

Anyway yeah, i cant just pull out the times hes made mistakes but i remember him making a couple, i have no doubts hes world class, but he wouldnt make the top 10 for me.
