What exactly was Trainspotting about? I'd google it but I'd rather know in a simple form about why people weren't allowed to watch it rather than a full blown plot on Wiki lol.

I was allowed to watch and play whatever I wanted to. When I was younger my mom was hesitant to me watching horror films but I still watched them anyway.

Violent video games I'm allowed, my Dad is pretty relaxed with all that. 18 rated films I'm allowed to watch too.

Drinking is a bit of a grey area though, I'm allowed alcohol at family things like Christmas and birthdays but not in the house really. :/

I have pretty liberal parents really, they've never been particularly enthused about me playing violent games or anything like that but they havent stopped me. They've never been that bothered about me drinking either, they've always lets me take some of their alcohol if I'm going out which saves me money

When i was younger she was a bit strict but more annoying really.

I'd pick a game like Manhunt or GTA III out

" Looks a bit violent this Andrew.. "

and then point to some Disney game on the shelf

" Look at this! this looks like a nice game.. there is a nice dog in it "

I got GTA when I was 12 and watching 18's about the same time.
I've been going out drinking since I was 13 but secretely.
They let me start drinking at home with my mates when I was 16 and i've been going to bars and stuff since like 15 but i'm 18 in 2 weeks so no more boundaries.
