bringing it back so soon will not pull in new converts to the show. Which means only BB diehards will make the effort to start watching ch5. All of which means low ratings...lower than ch4s BB ratings for sure. But maybe slightly better than what ch5 normally gets. Which is, of course, why theyve bought it.

interesting to see what they do with it. But I don't have high hopes.

Im past caring about the ratings now. They only seemed a problem when everyone was worrying about it getting axed and wanted it to improve so C4 would keep the show. Im just happy to have it back and don't give a **** if no one else wants to watch it anymore. Atleast us true fans of the show can watch and enjoy it for a few more years again.

I only bothered about ratings for that very reason. I haven't discussed BB in real life for quite a bit (apart from the last Celebrity Big Brother) so how many people are watching makes no difference when they're locked into a 5 year contract. And by the end of the 5 years I'll probably be bored of BB anyway so won't care if its axed or not

Exactly. I don't get why people are bothered about it becoming trashy. I'm not sure if anyone has noticed but it isn't exactly high brow TV thats the envy of BBC4.

Btw do you have Sky? You'll be able to get Channel 5 if you do (saw your earlier post), you'll just need to tune it in manually

Understand your logic but think you could be mistaken. I think none diehards will tune in out of curiosity. If CH5 do a good job in selecting housemates then curiosity viewere will stay on board. As well as the diehards......

I was original drawn into BB "out of curiosity". When BB1 was aired I watched just brief snippets and thought to myself what a load of rubbish....Then followed all the after math publicity and I thought to myself "What have I missed"!!!!

I decided to give the next series (BB2) a chance to see what all the fuss was about out of curiosity.....From episode one of BB2 I was hooked.......Never missed a series since although have like many had some moaning to do about this that or the other but still keep watching.....Still kept on recording. Have complete collection of all series from 3 to the last CH4 series. BB2 I have only a part collection much to my regret......

BB is something you love or hate if you love it then it becomes like an addiction no matter how bad it may seem at times......

I wish CH5 luck regardless of the type of BB it may be.......Sexy, fights, Who cares as long as we see human nature in the raw.......As long as we see reality emerging from an unreal environment. As long as CH5 does not run scared of those idiots at Ofcom......and the twats that will inevitably write and moan to those censorship idiots at Ofcom....

yes but its been on for 10 years. Now its not even having a break it seems. So everybody knows whether theyre interested in BB by now. Those who have tired of it will probably stay tired of it. It would certainly take a big effort for them to start watching it on ch5 regularly.

But I guess it depends what they do with it and how much they change it. Personally Id like it to adopt the US style where HMs can openly plot and plan against each other in a cutthroat way. Its more of a honest gameshow where they all want to win. But having a public vote(they dont have in US BB) would make it difficult to play the game that way.

As you imply it depends on personal tastes and what they do with it. Maybe a new batch of viewers gained while old viewers lost. Personally anything resembling US style would probably stop me watching it for good.....Add Vennesa Feltz to the mix and that would be the last straw for me.....

Well, when BB returns it will have been off air for 11 months compared to the usual 4 or 5 but that didn't do much to help BB9's ratings (which was effectively the first series in a similar amount of time with no one watching BBCH on E4).
