I have never watched it just a guess because of the mentoring thing thats been mentioned and four judges. I do now wonder if ITV didnt go after BB as they were lookng for a way to use the format to some extent without having to pay for it.

The X Factor peaked at 19.4m viewers last year, sadly it's not going anywhere anytime soon!
Besides, BBC has bought The Voice.

The best you could hope for is copyrighting the entire format including the concept of the diary room, nominations and evictions etc. Does anyone honestly think you could copyright the idea of filming people in a house?

EON/MGM can copyright the name and likeness of James Bond. Not the idea of an action movie.

I remember suggesting it last year - that XF should have live feed but it was because Cher, Wagner, Katie etc were all far more entertaining and interesting than the BB11 Bunch were.

But it can ****** off now.
