I said 'background in psych' not a psychologist... worked with challenging behaviour mental handicap in locked ward enviroment. Any of the male staff who needed extra cash could get bouncer work in town, if we could deal with the residents, drunk folks where easy

I often think about this and too be honest, I don't think one person can ever go in that house without a bunch of people calling them fake, no matter what you do and how you do it normal human behaviour is considered fake.
The only way to not be consided fake is to be considered completely boring and get evicted for that anyway. I wouldnt bare thinking that if I got upset about something people would call me a wimp, if I didnt get upset i would be an ass. Get into arguments and im bitchy, avoid arguments and i'm a coward. Show an attraction to a girl and its a fake showmance/me being a disgraceful player/perv. Dont show an attraction and 1 million "is he gay" threadspop up along with the pathetic vigin ones. Do cook, i'm a control freek, dont cook, im lazy. If i'm unpopular I would get nominated, if im popular I would be considered a bully to unpopular people. If im self confident im arrogant if im shy and modest them im depressive/seeking attention etc. And god forbid I do anything that mildly contradicts something I have once said as I would be slaughterd. I would never in a million years go on a reality show like big brother. I would be too afraid of affecting my normal life, or having some affect on my family.
I would love the experience of living with so many different people, doing all the tasks, and even nominations for evictions, but only if it was not an actual tv show that hundreds of thousands of people could see. It would be good if you could live the big brother experience, and for the company to just hand you piles of dvds of all your time in the house, but that it was never an actual public tv show. I don't really know how I would fare if I was in this years big brother show. I think the public could possibly find me boring at the start, because [at the the risk of sounding like Louise], I might just be too "normal". There's nothing particularly weird or unusual about me I don't think. I wouldn't be constantly over the top happy, jumping around the place dancing and singing. I would be fairly chilled out most of the time, but would get involved in fun and craic with the group if I was in the mood. I would try my best to not say anything behind someone's back that I wouldn't say to their face. If I wasn't brave enough to say it to their face, then I would just keep it to myself and not even say it in the diary room, because I know how bad that and two faced people like that come across on the tv show. I would probably follow Alex's example and either not drink any alcohol, or severely limit my intake of alcohol when in the house, out of respect for my family, incase I spilled something private about my life that I didn't want the entire viewing public to know. I think I would easily get along with everybody in this year's house. I would probably spend the least amount of time with Louise because she has not once yet had a single conversation that interests me, although maybe she is different than what we are seeing. I don't think I would have much interest in Aden either. I would either just not pay any attention to him, or else shake him and tell him to cop on and start thinking for himself. I think I would like spending time with Harry, Jay, Maisy, and surprisingly I think I would actually get on quite well with Anton if I was in there despite his gameplan. If I wanted just a bit of light hearted fun, I could hang with Tom and Alex at times, but I couldn't see myself getting particularly close to either of them. I would like Aaron and Faye when they are being good humoured, but I think most of the time I would find them too whiny and miserable to spend too much time around, so I'd probably just leave them alone until they were in a better mood again. I wouldn't deliberately start rows, but I think viewers and fellow housemates would probably be surprised by how I reacted if someone started a row with me. I have got quite a temper, but only if pushed. As I said I could get along with just about everyone, but if somebody did something to piss me off, I would be well able to stand up for myself nomatter who the person was. I'd like to think I would be brave enough to defend anyone who I thought was getting excluded or bullied aswell. I think if I had been in the house with Alexandra from bb9 I would have had some massive rows. I despised her. Don't know how the public would perceive me overall, I think they'd either see me as boring or else "down to earth" and likeable, could swing either way. If I did get into a row defending myself, they would either be pleased, or else I could be edited to look like I was in the wrong. It's kind of impossible to tell. It is probably so much different than we think when actually in the house. |

Whatever a housemate does will be scrutinised, analysed, torn apart/dissected, and then considered we know them inside out, when in all fairness we don't Being in the house would be the least of your/whoevers worries though, as you/whoever would have to contend with the boos, as very few if any never get booed, papers splashing in and outs of what may or maynot have happened in your life, then possible verbal and gawd forbid maybe even physical abuse afterwards from disgruntled fans. Places like facebook and twitter can show how nasty some can be ;o. There may be pluses to being in the BB house, but just as many if not more negatives. Bit of an odd response, however no she didn't actually and I have seen her tear a strip off people if needed with absolutely no comeback whatsoever.

I forgot to add to my earlier post, that I don't think I would ever win big brother. I think I would last quite awhile though, if I was genuinely getting along with the housemates though. I can get along well with most people, so probably wouldn't be up for nomination that soon. The public might be dying for me to be up though, "get that boring one out"

I follow lot's of the guidelines and advice she drummed into me.I just don't think I have ever seen violence solve anything. If I was ever to be in a BB house, her words and one liners though would be something I would draw on a lot. Last edited by joeysteele; 07-10-2011 at 12:08 PM. |

Not in the slightest. Have you worked in that enviroment, had the training to handle the 'problem' clients, council the high grades and act as advocate for all those you are prime care worker for? No! then you haven't the first clue on either the training or insight it brings do you!

I think I'd last two weeks... I'd either walk or be evicted for being overly annoying and potentially aggressive, I'd no doubt get loud boos.

I don't need re-training at all, the problem here is your basic laymans lack of understanding. That ACTUAL phrase is Key worker, but in a forum where that wouldn't be understood by the majority of the readers, in-house terminology would have been simply a discussion point scoring ego trip... The person responcible for the clients primer care requirements is much more informative to the layman reader. |
