There was no effort, but the worst thing was my housemate seemed proud of his efforts and asked me what I thought. Me and my other housemate didn't really know what to say.

He was proud of that?

I don't know how to explain what it looks like, other than a discarded offcut of someones Christmas tree that your friend probably found then chucked some balls and lights on it and thought it looked great Your friend deserves a slap for that halfhearted effort Though I suppose the thought's there

The balls are still on the floor, he left them for us so that he didn't take all the fun of decorating the tree.
