I've no problem with the jokes, I think they're all hilarious, it's just my point is that if I (and others) are going to be infracted for posting jokes which are a lot less worse than these then it seems somewhat unfair to me, a bit inconsistent and all about subjective opinion as to how funny a joke is.
Surely it's all or nothing with regards to what's allowed? I'd opt for the former in the interests of free speech myself but some don't seem to support that. But yeah, I just thought it was a little unfair when you put things into perspective. |

You see the problem is humour and offense is all subjective. I could quite easily say that I'm offended by jokes about the chicken crossing the road, or 'yo mama' jokes, but would those jokes then be banned? Of course they wouldn't, yet I'm offended, right? Surely you either ban all jokes or you ban none, because they after all are only jokes, and are not supposed to be taken seriously? Just my opinion of course, it just seems a little unfair that's all, and what's allowed is down to a subjective opinion of humour. Oh, that's funny...that can stay, that's not funny...infraction. To be honest maybe a specific thread where jokes can be told, with warnings given about 'potentially offensive content' should be created, I'm pretty sure we had one before. That way, and maybe I'm the only one in thinking this, but if you've been warned, and have the opportunity not to go looking for places to be supposedly outraged, then you have no right to claim to be offended. As a side note, maybe this could be an interesting debate thread to start. |

Well, I had to make a call on that particular joke he's referring to and imo if I had left it there it would have been reported by people who would have found it offensive.

That in itself sounds quite offensive to me. Mocking a campaign aiming to stop an African warlord committing crimes against many children? What if, say, there was a guest, or even a member on here that had either been abducted as a child, abused/tortured, or knew anyone that had, or had any kind of link to the Kony 2012 campaign, do you not think they'd have been offended? You can say 'well that's unlikely' all you want, but the possibility is still there, and so is it still acceptable to make jokes about such issues?

i dunno what joke you're on about but whats to stop people from reporting your joke about kony? yeah its all a laugh and stuff which it should be cus like someone said in another thread 'you have to point laughter in the darkest of areas else life would be too depressing' .making a joke about racism doesnt make you a racist..its just sounds a bit silly to delete a joke about that joke and then make a joke about kony and we all know what kony does..
ahhh hangover scribble sorry for the essay
