I don't think she ever said it, but on the final night it was obvious she didn't think she should have won, as she practically said she should give her 100k away.

Yep.
And that's when this forum was at it's best to - divides between members, people getting banned for having full blown arguments over Marcus and other housemates etc

God it was great, and then the forum crashing for weeks once Marcus was evicted. :')

LOL Ah right, well tbh she had a right - I know she's the host and all but she was also a massive fan of the show like us, and any massive fan of Big Brother knew that in 2008 Rachel winning was one of the worst things to ever happen on TV history.

It was better than BB9. This is the only fan site where everyone loves BB9 so much, perhaps because most people here are too young to remember how much better every series except 4 and 8 was before it.

Yeah everything about BB/TiBB was amazing back then, I think that's why I always moan now because it's nothing like it was when you look back on it. All the fans getting togehter to plot how to vote and then going to war with the other fans, just brilliant None of this 'lets all buy 50 credits on facebook and vote Tom x' ****.

I starting watching Big Brother since CBB4 (okay maybe it wasn't that long ago but still - )

And the reason why I liked BB9 so much was because of the housemates and the twists, whereas BB10 had crap housemates and crap twists and crap everything. From a viewer's point of view. Just because the atmosphere of this forum was good, does not mean the series itself was good.

They were what made it great. It didn't have to really on gimmicky task/twists because the cast alone carried it, which imo is what BB should be about.

Seriously? Cmon the cast were as gimmicky as it gets. They chucked anyone in there, tried making it as diverse as possible. They were so desperately trying to create entertainment, but it didn't work, which is why it bombed ratings-wise for Channel 4.

You need a good balance of housemates. Not too different. But not nowhere as limited as BB12 of course, because that bombed too.

I know it was full of freaks but it still worked and was entertaining, it had constant arguements and bitching. Are you telling me anyone since that series are as memorable as Marcus, Noirin, Freddie, Siavash... etc?

Why do you always say that?

People on here have watched Big Brother for years, myself included - I've watched BB3 onwards so I know what the early series were like.

I can say what aspects BB5 had that were better than BB9, that goes for BB7 too.
But BB9 just had everything that's why so many people love it on here, it's nothing to do with the age at all. At the end of the day it just depends what you're looking for in a series, BB9 happened to have a great bunch of housemates, right mix of twists, amazing tasks, the best house and great moments.. the only bad point was the ending, and the outcome of the launch night twist.

And I didn't post here much then so I'm not on about this forum's atmosphere.

Because the younger the forum is, the more popular the more recent series are, the older the forum is, the more popular the older series are, BB9 on DS, where most BB posters are in their mid 30s and other forums wasn't as loved anywhere near as much as it is here.

BB9 would have been better than BB10 with better housemates, but it only had Rex.

A Youtube commenter on Kat's eviction:

Quote:
Why? She put herself in that situation. It's called reality TV and that was ****ing brilliant tv. Loved it and yes I booed as well - cos quite frankly she deserved it. My opinion.
Here is your reason why we can never have evictions back to the way they were. People will be hostile and ruin it.

The best eviction ever was Grace's BB7, because the crowd was so hostile towards her. There's nothing wrong with them being hostile, it's just that they're hostile every week now, even the winner gets booed, so it's not as good when someone's really hated because the reaction's only slightly worse than the ones that are liked.

It's more a case of unnecessary hostility. I'm fine with a proper villain getting their panto booing, but someone crying and still getting a lynch mob reception is beyond the point of entertainment.

Kathreya was 30 years old, she can handle booing.

I thought BB10 was far better than BB9. It didnt need brilliant twists as the HM's were the ones who created the great viewing.

Couldn't stand him but he was a good housemate. BB9 was full of attention seekers but BB10 had a great mix

The good thing about BB10 was that it was independent - in the sense that the producers were too busy playing around in their offices or falling asleep and left the whole show to itself, they were too lazy to even give proper shopping tasks that they kept recycling the same bollocks every week thinking we were stupid.

And then the housemates had to make the entertainment, and that's probably the only series that Big Brother took a back seat and let the housemates take control - especially in the final few weeks when the housemates rebelled against Big Brother and went crazy, and even Marcus said last year how in 2009 the producers did ****** all for the show, or for the housemates and they had to make their own fun.

So I completely applaud the BB10 cast for that, carrying the show on their back.
