The thing I don't get about swear filters is that: anyone who's offended by swearing is hardly going to read a post that says "I ****ing hate Luke S" and think "oh well there's no swear word there, thank god I don't have to take offence now".

Thread 'Dear channel 5' message 6,this siggie has em all and is not nice for newbies or people that don't like such words,I dont mind the odd F word but that other one is vile.

There was a massive thread on this about a year back, I think Stu made it - pretty much all of us agreed that it shouldn't be filtered. But do the Admins listen? No.

I tell you what cheapens the forum, the state of it - in terms of presentation. Not how we speak.

I use a Grand Theft Auto forum, the amount of times I've found myself censoring words out with 'stars' is a joke - I'm so use to doing it on TiBB that I forget, on the GTA Forum - swearing is legal.

Sure we watch Big Brother and know about them, and sure the stars don't hide the fact there was a swear posted, but there's just something unsettling about the thought of seeing everyone freely roaming about posting profanities. At least the "****"s keep it covered up.
