..this was good..I loved the detective characters and Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson were perfectly cast ..especially Matthew as someone who has quite a dark personality..I loved him in Lincoln Lawyer and Mud and it's great to see him in more of these complicated personality roles, rather than the lighthearted stuff he used to do...I'm really looking forward to seeing how the series and detectives lives unfold...

..that one of the detectives is the murderer/responsible for the missing girl/s etc and the obvious one would be Rust, Matthew's character because of the questioning and because he has so many inner demons and possibly struggles between breaking the law and upholding it..and just a much darker/complicated character...which is why I think that it's Martin, Woody's character who may be the serial killer..anyway, I might be wrong completely and neither of them might be....

Amazing show. It's a shame that it will only be one season with this current cast but I guess that at least means there'll be no cliffhangers or anything in the finale.

Rust and Marty are both great characters, I think Rust is my favourite just for how complex he is but McConaughey and Woody work so well together. And this is perfect

..so at the end of last night's episode, we saw the killer..?...hmmm, that blows my theory of it being one of the main characters, then...I thought it might have been have been Marty's wife...

Blew my theories away too Ammi but then I'm now thinking, if that's who they arrested as the killer, then they surely got the wrong guy back then because why else is the case opened back up all these years later? hmmm I need to have a rethink , still really enjoying this show though and quite sad it only lasts for one season with these characters but I suppose the script/story must work better that way

..I still think there has to be a huge twist though because that's too obvious to re-open the case because they got the wrong person...the first episode kind of led you to believe it was Rust and that he was the 'darker' character but although he's quite deep, I think Marty could be much darker...and I thought it would be him at first but then with his affairs and his relationship with his wife, I thought she might be killing off young girls in the town...I still think it's one of the main characters because it seemed odd to give nothing away and then just show him like that at the end of the last episode and in the episode before, Rust said that the detectives were asking the wrong questions, which made me think he knew something...oh, I also think there could be an affair with Rust and Marty's wife...

Well theres 8 episodes in total so for those of us watching on uk tv then we have 5 left.

Such a good finale to wrap up an amazing first season. If they enter it as a drama series and not a mini-series at the Emmys then I think it can beat out Breaking Bad in the majority of the categories (Best Drama and Best Lead Actor especially).

Errol was such a creepy bastard.. Actually thought he was going to get the better of Rust and Marty and kill them both at the end.

Finished this last night, it was really, really good but I disagree that it was better than Breaking Bad Locke.

MM was better individually, but he won't win the awards because of everything that goes along with BB. I've not watched many MM films, and was surprised at how good of an actor he actually is. He was outstanding in this.

mmm I suppose, it's a tough one though, Bryan Cranston had to do a whole transformation on his character, bit by bit over 5 seasons and he did it so well but yeah McConaghy was outstanding in True Detective, best thing about the show imo

Never really bought into all the Audrey stuff, thought it would have been too far stretched for her to have been involved, think it works better with her just being all about Marty's own personal problems.
