Don't see the new consoles being out this time next year to be honest, announced? Yeah. But certainly not on shelves.

And I'd not buy it for the first 2 years, providing the major gaming companies where still catering for those of us on the 360/PS3 for a good while.

Not sure it just feels like too big a thing for them to suddenly put out - this is exactly how I felt with GTA V aswell when it was revealed that it would be out in a matter of months. It doesn't feel like it, and with hardly any proper promotion it doesn't feel like we're that close to the reveal - guess it feels the same with this, but yeah like you said I guess they have 10 months to really hype it up and get everything sorted.

Also want to comment on that DualShock news - It sounds like a Wii U-esque design they're going for, ridiculous. Praying it's not true and they stick to the original design.

The dual shock literally never, ever needs to be changed. If the PS4 does come with a whack ass Wii U like controller I can see them having Dual Shock 4 as a substitute ... and everyone using that instead.

I'm also confused by reports that the next Xbox will be able to play Blu Ray. Even if they made a killing off it why would Sony let their competitor adopt Blu Ray technology when you could keep it strictly for the PlayStation?

Chances are the new Xbox will use some custom sort of HD disc format, methinks.

Ps3 Controllers Brake too easily too, If i drop it, Then it's Fu**ed, Although I prefer PS3 Controllers Xbox controllers are a much better make.

Think I prefer the 360's controller, but you don't even notice a difference after a while, nobody focuses on their hands when playing a game.

Not sure what to think about the reports on the PS4 controller, but I trust Sony.

I do feel a cramp playing FPS on PS3. The 360 controller works better there ... but for platformers or beat em ups or virtually anything else I'd rather the PS3.

Sony has released a teaser site that appears to indicate the upcoming announcement of its next game console.

The site includes a video inviting viewers to "see the future" as the PlayStation cross, square, circle and triangle symbols glow with electricity.

The announcement will be revealed on February 20 at 6pm ET (11pm GMT).

Sony's next console - codenamed Orbis and more commonly referred to as PlayStation 4 - will reportedly use new user accounts and a new controller design.

It was recently claimed that Sony's next console will feature 4K resolution support in line with a rumoured new range of Sony TVs.

Additional hardware details were leaked last year, while EA's Frank Gibeau revealed that he had seen both the PS4 and new Xbox, and suggested that the consoles would introduce gaming to a further billion people.

Sony CEO Kaz Hirai recently hinted that the company's next console could arrive after Microsoft's next Xbox system.

I'm more interested in seeing if they'll announce any games, if it has a decent launch line up I may break my own rule and buy it right after release. I've been hearing rumours that Final Fantasy Versus might be upgraded into a PS4 game but I've not head much else.

I'm guessing we could see a Uncharted Launch game.
