If they did a green eye (which is hard to get right, I dislike most fan designs in that colour, only telefan's really pulled it off) then they'd only use it to do a jealousy / envy theme which would probably mean another house divide.

I want a brand new eye, not based on the usual channel 5 template. It's a shame, because the logo was made with the channel 5 logo in mind, the whole circle thing going on. It shouldn't be like that, it restricts their creativity so much.

Exactly!

It may of been 'okay' for 2011 if they wanted to go for that branding to tie in with their new logo, fair enough - but they obviously didn't think it through long term.

The old Eatock Design gave them so, so, so much room for bending the design about every year and letting the design and creativity run wild. Now they're stuck with a boring eye template for good.

Which is a shame, because Daniel Eatock [as most of us know] submitted a BB12 Eye and they declined it - all because they wanted to have an eye that would look pretty in their silly little idents and break bumpers.

I know and the thing was, with a bit of work, it could have been amazing and it could have been part of a theme. With CH5's eyes for Big Brother, they don't represent what each series holds, and it will be hard for them to do so in the future.

Omg, there's so much they could of done with that. Ink blots going into liquid and forming the eye... and the design is actually based on this deep psychological thing (I can't remember the name of it) but it's where you look at there 'ink blots', in this case, the eye, and different people will see different things. What they see reveals their state of mind and what kind of person they are, which would be an amazing because thats what the show is about, or was about, atleast.

Exactly. They need someone at the helm with a little creativity. They need Shirley Jones.

Does anyone remember how we had just had the lowest rated pile of crap, a series average of 2.5m with BB10? Then Shirley Jones produces her first series since the BB5 revamp (which viewers flooded back to aswell) and made CBB7, which had some of the highest ratings since 2007. That series launched with 6.7m.

Or they'd use green purely for the sake of using the colour green and it wouldn't have any theme/meaning beyond being decorative like 90% of the other eyes.

I'm not saying that the eyes inspire or suggest the theme, just that they might not be able to resist linking the green eye to a green-eyed monster theme, you know what lazy tv arty types are like with gimmicks.

They may have not gone with the eatock eye because of the 'Orbit' (Eye stage) and they couldn't be bothered making a new stage for BB13 so they used the template again. Since they are changing it, maybe they will use a new template.

That eye was submitted for the first Channel 5 series, BB12, so the stage probably hadn't even been hired at that point.

They should get rid of the eye logo, it's so 2000 and late. Allof the cool big brothers just use text and a little house logo now.
