I agree. Looking back on past series' of Big Brother, the best ones had a range in ages. In BB5 everyone was between 21-45 and thats one of the best series' to date. The older housemates also usually had a story to tell too and that showed in their personality, e.g. Derek from BB6 was a british lobbyist and was speechwriter for Margaret Thatcher.

It makes for better TV when each individual housemate comes from a range of backgrounds and places in the UK, is entertaining in their own way and are from a range of social classes.

There seems to be a myth that older HMs make the best HMs. While I agree with this for celeb version it rarely is the case in normal BB tbh. Usually they take the nice father/mother role or they are just completely useless.

if 'older folk' are around the same age as previous housemates like Freddie, Marcus, Mikey etc then this is good news.. old enough to still get involved with all the bickering but not too old to sit back in the background and play the father/motherly role like Leon said

Not sure whether Derek Laud counts as an older housemate, but he was certainly entertaining and caused alot of the arguments indirectly in BB6. Ahmed was pretty controversial too, and Belinda drove everyone up the wall, which made great TV.

I am loving hearing this. To tune in and see a range of ages, some non fame hungry housemates and toned down editing would make me implode with happiness
