Are these guys actually going to plead not Guilty to a crime that was recorded on several CCTV cameras plus witnessed and recorded by many passers by and their phone cameras ??

It would be the shortest trial in history if that's the case.

I think they will probably refuse to plead on political grounds...!!!

What if it was a soldier at a military base who was smuggling weapons off the base and giving them to the enemy and then the enemy was using those weapons to attack that same base. I would call that treason.

Yes its treason but regardless of Political persuasion its also theft of weapons and Conspiracy to supply weapons with the intent to commit acts of murder, so regardless of the Treason angle you are still guilty of supply with intent to cause murder/acts of terrorism.

I didn't say that the EDL invented any of these claims, the claims came from those men themselves. The EDL however is an Islamophobic organisation, which in my opinion just adds to the problem that these crazy people have created. They want to get rid of all Islamic people, when it's only a small minority who seemingly hate the UK. I don't understand most of your post though... I'm not shutting anything out? Or if I am, I don't understand what you think I'm ignoring? I don't expect us to listen to their views, that is absolutely not what I am saying at all! I think that we have to understand WHY they did what they did, instead of just blaming all Muslim people for what they did, which is what the EDL are doing, and which is what this thread is hinting at. I'm not listening to their message. I think they're as crazy as everyone else in this thread does. I just think we ought to respond to extreme hate, not with more extreme hate in kind, but understanding at the very least. I used the Westboro Baptist Church as an example of an extremist Christian group. I could have used the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as an example instead; whose leader was convicted of sexual assault on children. Again, it's not brutal murder, it's just for the example of extremist groups acting in the name of religion. They do not represent everyone of the Christian faith any more than two insane men carving up an innocent soldier declaring war on the UK represent Islam. Crazy people don't respect post codes or faiths, they need to be helped or locked away; but tarring everyone with the same brush because of the actions of a few is wrong, and if you think that that makes me some kind of sympathiser, then that's your prerogative. I just like to try and see both sides to things like this.
