I'm allergic to dairy products. I take 2 antihistamine tablets a day (on prescription) so it's not too bad but I can't overdo it with dairy products, even so.

Love cheese but it doesn't love me! Lol!

My son used to take one a day, he was diagnosed with asthma too a couple of months back..if he has a glass of milk he coughs for ages, he's having allergy tests at the back end of august.
Have you always had this or did it just come on?

Not everyone who has it has it to the same extent... in the same way that some people can have mild asthma and others have full blown breathing problems around the clock but they all get classed under the same umbrella of illnesses. If people choose to eat it knowing that it can't be made gluten-free then that sounds to me more like a fad dieter than someone with a serious problem. Plus it can develop at any point in your life, you don't necessarily have to have been born with a food intolerance; imagine how hard it would be having to suddenly cut out bread, pasta, cereal... or cheese, milk, yoghurt, chocolate... when before, you'd never had to give that stuff any consideration at all.

At my previous place of work we'd have people requesting gluten free pasta and some of the dishes are prepared in advance in some way so can't be made gluten free. It's very frustrating for customers.

Also I think 'discomforts' is putting it very mildly - when I was recovering from Norovirus, all my symptoms were consistent with coealic symptoms and I wasn't able to control when I needed the toilet, all of a sudden my stomach would just kind of drop and I'd have to run to the toilet and uh.. let it all out so gross. I would never eat gluten if I had coeliac, knowing that that's how I would be for days afterwards. It would stop you from leading a normal life.
