I think, from reading around, it depends on the crematorium. If they are more interested in saving money, they just do all together. If they are more interested in doing things properly..they do it seperate and you actually get the ashes.

Hole - dig
Body - throw

Anyone who finds this subject interesting should watch Caitlin Doughty's videos on youtube. She's a real life Mortician, is adorable and the videos she does are entertaining and informative at the same time.

She died years ago, don't be ridiculous.

I want a giant statue of myself built, holding my pot of ashes skyward Simba-style, as if I'm blessing the heavens with my arrival.

Have you applied to leave your body to medical science ? They won't take you unless you have prearranged ! There are criteria you have to meet , so just because you have stated this in your will won't mean they want you.

They are inundated with people wanting to - ya need to have something wrong with you they might be doing research into or the like.

That is completely untrue ! People are cremated individually , crems have more than one furnace and bones are ground up in macerator to almost dust !

I want to be buried with alll my organs intact in case I come back to life and to be complete in piece. I do believe in the spirits.

I'de like to be frozen or cremated, having said though, the thought of leaving my body to medical science seems a better option, how does one go about doing that?

That's almost exactly what I was told, hijaxers. Too much ridiculous information is available on Google, sadly. The crematorium I spoke to after reading Vicky's post told me that they try to be careful and respectful when dealing with people's remains and I choose to believe them. I'm sure there is a dark sense of humour involved in a job like that, as with any job that deals with danger or with death. But I don't believe they're all callous and uncaring.

Heh. I wonder if I should tell my dad this. This was the reason he chose to not get the ashes

I suppose it saves them having to build a Y-shaped coffin, so your legs can rest in their normal position.

Boom.
