I love living in the UK. Yes I'm one of those pesky immigrants, took somebodys job...though I bought my own house to make up for that and I don't think I have stopped anyone getting dental treatment yet :

Having been lucky enough to have lived and worked abroad a few times, I could never leave the UK permanently. I love this place, I love the change of seasons, I love the history, the culture, the quirkiness of the people... I'd never want to live anywhere else.

omgz you speak German

Do you think Spanish is a language that you'd really have to immerse yourself in too? If you try and learn a little bit of Spanish it'll be a lot easier to speak Portuguese.

I think I would mix them up badly though. I am scared I would have half of my sentences in Portuguese and half in Spanish or something if I did that. The best word I learned is "chapadăo", I was saying it all week and Pedro's sisters got me a mug made with the word on it.

My brother lives in New York,I lived there for year and we are hopefully looking into moving over there eventually,it's my fave place ever,but for now I am quite happy here until the kids are older.

My sisters friend moved to New York recently after getting a job offer over there in fashion and now she's very jealous I don't blame her, I would be too! Although not the working in fashion bit, i'd be useless at that.

I spent a year in America and loved it...but I wouldn't do it permanently now (although at the time with no commitments if I could have found a way to stay I would have jumped at it but all my green card marriage proposals were turned down)
