I have no problem with my look, and the first line of this post dont take it as i'am big headed or cocky or w.e. I just have belief in myself

I think I could look better sometimes, but I don't really lack in confidence in general.

I don't have much confidence in how I look or whatever, but in the last year I think my general confidence has improved a lot so that I could come come across fairly well to most people even though I don't expect them to find me attractive or anything

It's good to have confidence in yourself Jemal, there definitely a difference between confidence and arrogance and imo you fit the confidence group.

...you 'used to be ok'...you still are ok, well probably an awful lot more than ok but you just don't believe that you are because understandably your confidence has taken a bit of a knock...I know how that feels as well, even though my reasons for having a long not working period were different to yours but it still effected my confidence quite dramatically...I know it's difficult but I think that what you have to try to remember though or try to think about is that there is no reason for you to be less confident, you're just the same able and capable person that you ever were because losing your job like that, is not a 'personal thing'..as Arista would say, it's a sign of the times and unfortunately happens to a lot of people so has no reflection on you as a person..but I know that's not what you see in yourself or how you feel...

...I just don't think there is enough attention paid to the emotional issues that these things cause and what they do to people, which are in themselves 'illnesses' and something that are very real and in a way I think that they are worse than physical illnesses because at least with those, you have something that you understand and can focus on dealing with..when I was off work for a long period, it was because of physical illness and that bit was easy..(ish)..in that I knew what I had to overcome but the emotional part of having that illness and not working for a long time was a bit more tricky and something that for me and a lot of people can be a 'work in progress..'...and everyone is different, I know but for me personally I found that Cognitive Behaviour Therapy helped a lot in that it kind of helped me to 'break down' my fears/insecurities/lack of confidence etc and understand that they were just things in 'my head' and not real things..just my own imagined 'monsters'...and in breaking them down and understanding them, it kind of helped me to deal with them and get to a place where I could work again...I know it doesn't work for everyone but there are different things that work for different people and talking to your GP about that and maybe having some counselling would be a good thing...

..but that's probably a bit in the future because even though losing your job was an awful thing for you and obviously not a choice...it's probably good to use the time right now have your eyes sorted out, which will make a big difference in your life (practically..)..but also with self confidence and then when your surgeries are all over and you see how you feel in yourself, then you'll probably feel emotionally stronger to look at the your confidence and tackle that a bit..a little bit at a time....

..anyway..to answer the actual question..

..some days I am confident and other days I'm not, it really depends on other stuff...I'm ok with how I look physically but it's never been about that for me, I think it's more looking in the mirror and not seeing 'physical' but seeing everything you hate about yourself as a person looking back at you and it's quite hard to feel 'attractive' when that happens...but then there are days when I'm quite pleased with myself about something and I think, yeah, you're not too bad really...it probably does sometimes manifest itself physically though in that on a 'good day', I can open my wardrobe and just pick something out randomly to wear and feel fine in it...on a 'bad day', there are 68797586 outfits on the bed that I've tries on and think they all look cr*p.....
