Oops!
'Thousands of pounds donated as part of the "#nomakeupselfie" craze were sent to Unicef instead of Cancer Research UK by mistake, the BBC has learned.

More than £8m has been raised after the craze of taking a self-portrait with no make-up spread virally.

But those texting "DONATE" rather than "BEAT" found their money sent to the wrong charity.'

Well placing such a huge amount of money into the wrong place is kind of an issue.

a charity is a charity... either way someone in need is better off than they were before

besides, not everyone i know has been raising money for cancer research... I've seen people donate to all kinds of charities. i don't think that just because everything hasnt gone to cancer research it means that it's mistake.

That's not entirely the point, if I choose to support a specific charity then I would expect my donation to benefit said charity.
It was an error, some people may not mind and some would.

Well then maybe you should double check where the donation is going, it's an error on the part of the person if they text "donate" instead of "beat" and send it to the wrong charity

Cock in a sock is hilarious but scary at the same time. Luckily I have only seen one of those so far, but I'm dreading new ones coming up from people I actually associate with
