Not that he is a heartthrob, just in terms of he generally looked better then

I think Rooney has done a pretty good job, but then most people won't be able to afford the sort of transplant he got and he didnt need to worry about it that much anyway when he's married with a kid

..yep, I think this too, I know it sounds naff/corny but hair/lack of it etc wouldn't make a guy less or more attractive for me because it really is to do with the person they are...I remember that one of my son's friends at school was physically probably the definition of 'geek' but he has the most incredible personality and that's what people/girls see in him...he dated some of the 'most popular/'hot' etc girls at school...


..but anyway, going back to the hair topic..I guess there will come a point when you would have to make a decision whether to shave it off completely..but that might not happen for ages though, just because you may start receding early/it doesn't meant that it will necessarily be that your hair loss is rapid...

I think it's only those incredibly vain dating shows with the blonde bimbo with unrealistic expectations where I've seen people comment on not wanting someone with a receding hairline.

Not really heard many lasses bring it up as an issue, not that I hang around with a lot of lasses really so I could be talking out my ass.

..I wonder if they met someone that they really liked, if that would all go by the by though...I know that we all have 'physical' preferences of what we deem to be 'attractive' but when it comes to actually being attracted to someone, it's more the person they are...?...hmmm, I'm trying to think of an 'opposite' analogy...say it was a heterosexual guy and he thought, oh I don't think short hair on females looks good, I tend to be attracted to long hair..or I don't really like blonde hair/always am attracted to dark hair..then he met someone who was lovely, who he really liked in every way but they had short hair or blonde hair..?..I just don't think it would be the thing that he would think..ughhh, that short hair spoils them/I couldn't possibly date a short haired female...probably an awful analogy tbh.....

No I agree, but in both sexes we do get people (a minuscule amount) who do scoff at certain physical attributes and use it as a barrier to potential dates. Whether or not they grow out of it I don't know, they tend to be very unpleasant people anyway so I doubt very many people on here socialise with those type of people very much. The vast majority of people are open minded and wouldn't batter an eyelid at a receding hairline, it is natural and it changes sod all in the grand scheme of things.

..but you look..(and are..)..lovely though Jake and the funny thing about genes and stuff is that they're quite clever and tend to give the right hair/hairline etc to the people who suit them most and still look terrific..you have a grand forehead and I think the more that is seen of that, the better...it would be a shame to hide it behind lots of hair...people don't really often tend to have hairlines that don't suit them/those clever genes to know what will make us look good.......

..yeah, I know there are some people that maybe 'scoff' but maybe that's more just 'for effect' with their friendships and people they all perceive as attractive...celebs etc or the 'cool guys' at school/college/uni...?...when it comes to actually meeting someone and whether something would 'put them off' getting to know that person because of something so unimportant and shallow, I wonder if it really would....

I guess only they will ever truly know. I'd like to think without all the pomp and bravado those few might look a little deeper but it's only them that lose out anyway so it's no loss to rest of us.

..yeah, but I also think that 'pomp and bravado' is often their own insecurities and lack of confidence as well, so I wouldn't necessarily be harsh on them either...or at least in the movies, that's often what the 'mean girls' are.....
