Its different with a show like Big Brother where it relies on votes and is largely interactive.

People catching up after the weekend wouldn't have voted ect.

I know they have product placement ect but surely they must be disappointed with the money voting brings in seeing as even the hardcore BB fans admit on here don't even vote.

Oh no for me i split every series in half allways have done, Housemates/and how its run, you know graphics taks big brother voices, allthough i think theyve improved this year theres still alot to be done.

But what you have to question is how did the benefit show get 2m+ and bb got 1.2m makes no sense.

Oh right, production and casting.

BIB - Just shows how little interest BB garners nowadays.

Why would they never do it?

They are 100% more interested in CBB as it gets so much attention and far more viewers for them.

I wouldn't be shocked if they cancelled the regular BB now. I would have been years ago but not now.

Will it? Putting so called "celebs" in the house who are desperate for fame is pretty much the name of the game now for CBB and BB.

Getting rid of live feed and making it more and more like Towie has destroyed the point of the show.

I was sad to see BB go in 2010 but I actually wouldn't care all that much if it ended this year. I can just about muster interest for a 3-4 weeks CBB, it's getting more difficult with the main show.

I understand what you are saying, I don't want them to axe it but I wouldn't be that sad, I would still like it on C5, I still enjoy the show tbh

To be fair it's got less Towie since BB12

Channel 5's summer schedule has always been the ratings grabber. Yes BB sometimes gets knocked off the top 3-5 programmes of the week but you must remember, the more people watch another C5 show, the more likely they are to witness adverts of other shows, furthermore enhancing the possibility of viewers to watch even more shows. Channel 5 makes its summer schedule so jam-packed with the best shows, it knows people likes them, it knows more will watch and it knows it stands a very good chance of beating other channels like C4, whose programming is based on 'where can this go' rather than seasonal as with C5.

I for one ONLY tend to watch C5 when these shows are on, my particular favourites are The Hotel Inspector, Cowboy Builders and of course BB and CBB, meanwhile my mum loves NCIS and CSI. It's a very clever way to pull in a much needed audience, and it works with both young and old, something which many other channels fail to do.. look at ITV.. I haven't watched anything on that in weeks.. to me, it's all for adults and I find it petty and boring at the best of times!

They would never push BB aside for their other shows, it's a staple among others. As I KEEP SAYING, Why would they get rid of BB, for attracting, lets say 1.5 million, when other shows attract more, let's say 1.7 million. It'd do the channel far more damage to remove BB than any other shows, remember it's TWO solid months of good ratings. Loosing that in favour of other shows which are only weekly, only 6-10 times, compared to BB's 60 to 70 episodes and that would be perhaps the most stupid decision in British TV. More so than when C4 decided to axe BB in the first place..

Another, MINI, rant over!

Maybe it's time to put the show on in the winter?

January through to March?

Ratings would be higher but the share would be flat, and often the share is deemed more important, as obviously it is a higher percentage of possible audiences. CBB Winter does terrificly well, however in reality, although it's like 1 million up on the summer series, it's share is only 2-3% more! I guess Winter has a lot of competition in terms of those watching TV, maybe they're all stuck inside!
