There was and still is to a degree a lot more 'discipline' attached to the Catholic Church but it is far more relaxed now than it was.

Generally Catholic services, re - the Mass, go on a lot longer usually than other Christian churches services.

Er no. I have been to Catholic and Anglican services.

Catholic services are about 2/3 to 3/4 the length of an Anglican service.

Being Roman Catholic I usually go to Easter services with one of my Parents,the Anglican one I once went to was done in less than an hour, the Catholic one, we were still there after over one and half hours.

However,I have noticed not a great deal of difference in the services now.

But that someone we know as Jesus existed is not in much historical doubt.

Whether he was the son of god, divine etc is a different issue altogether.

There are different masses. The vigil is long because.... it's a vigil.

They hold "regular" length Easter masses too.

Just like at Christmas.

I'm a Catholic and our masses last around 40 minutes, extended to an hour on some feast days.

I'm not a catholic anymore so only ever go to mass for weddings etc but you must just have priests who love the sound of their own voices lol
