I disagree. Everyone in there bitches. Chris is friends with Ashleigh and that's who he's going to talk to in private. However, unlike the malicious bitching going in elsewhere, Chris has never been shown gossiping or saying anything nasty - simply commenting on the nasty actions of others. Ashleigh has said some bitchy things, but it is mostly coming from her defending herself. Look at the Jale 'uncool kid' comment, he stated she was acting different and Danielle and Ashleigh said stuff along the lines of 'her head is up Helen's arse' and Chris never acknowledged the comment or said anything similar. He can think for himself and most viewers can see that. He has also been friends with Ashleigh for weeks now and if he suddenly dropped her that would look way worse for him. I felt like there was a degree of one dragging down the other in Toya and Ashleigh and Ashleigh and Danielle, but not with her and Chris.

The public still loves Chris, but he would lose some support if he indulges in too many bitching sessions with Ashleigh (even if they bitch about Helen). Chris has always shown a bitchy streak, but I think he's been getting away with it because he does most of it in the diary room. The difference lies here: When Chris criticizes other HMs in the diary room, you wouldn't call it being nasty (because he does it in a calm fashion, and he seems to maintain some degree of objectivity), but when Ashleigh does it (like when she used to with Danielle) it comes across as nasty (the way her mouth and entire face contorts...)- and in general, I don't think the public will like that even if they share her opinions on Helen. Ashleigh gets away with it because of her age, but I don't think the public would be quite as forgiving if it's Chris.

At the VERY LEAST, if Chris & Ashleigh continue to be a pair, in the long run, he would lose some of his massive fanbase to her. I don't think he's in any danger of being voted out.
