What about the people who choose to name a child a certain name? Or those who choose to get a tattoo. Or those who choose to endanger themselves to help those in need? Is Hopkins the only person allowed to make a choice without being criticised for it?
![]() The difference is, her choice involves perpetuating nasty stereotypes, which means she absolutely is entitled to be judged for it. Oh, you're too kind Daniel. She's a twat of the highest order. Last edited by Lostie!; 04-02-2015 at 05:35 PM. |

Choosing to be a racist asshole is fine but when you start voicing it on tv then it's another matter.
Choosing racial slurs didn't do Ken Morley any good. Not that I think that he had any racist intent behind what he said mind you but clearly big brother disagrees with your idea of everyone being allowed their own choice. Especially when said choice is vocalized on tv for all to see. Last edited by Philanthropite; 04-02-2015 at 05:39 PM. |

My Mum has always had a problem with American's for some reason and I've always defended them.
She thinks they're all loud, brash, in your face and egotistical.. now after watching Perez, i can kind of see why she'd get that idea But she is also a Michelle stan so it's okay.

AMEN, from an American. KH had no problem with Cami, Jeremy, Alex, Michelle, or Callum. Perez gives us Americans a bad name. Remember the good ones past and present
We are not all twats, the majority of the US isn't (you just don't hear from those that are not, for lack of drama). Trust me on that one. There's horrible English ppl and horrible Americans. The rate is probably very similar.

Exactly my point, but Perez does not help relations/stereotypes between the two countries. He epitomizes my perception of how some English ppl view Americans especially the ones on CBB. I think KH just uses it as an easy out because he personifies everything wrong with "Americans" or more often people in general regardless of nationality. No one likes selfish narcissism which Perez exemplifies IMO. I imagine he is hardly alone in either country though, just gets more pub for it....

Perez is every negative aspect of American and gay stereotypes rolled into one.
Obviously not all American or gay people are like that though.

I don't see the problem people have as such. Katie has only compared Perez to the stereotype American.. loud, in your face, gets too personal over nothing... Perez fits the stereotype perfectly.
It's just the same as an American viewing the British stereotype, posh, up ourselves, tea lovers. People seem to be taking this out as an issue just because they dislike Katie. Not once has she been offensive to Americans as a whole. She just picks out the obvious stereotype Perez fits. |
