This result however was one of the last ones I hoped for and wanted.
These things have always got a habit of working out. If it brings about a sea change in UK politics, then its worth it. These results have been coming for a while. If it results in us having a stronger voice/place in europe and a more federal UK, then it has to be the best result for everyone, no matter their political leanings. I'm very upbeat, and not just because the tories won.

Like you,I do now hope the pressure becomes too great now to not be able to avoid those things and bring about even more really big changes.

Awful result. Leaving the EU will be disastrous and I'm pissed the uni fees aren't getting reduced.

I suppose i'm a little disappointed that UKIP didn't get more seats seeing as they had more votes than SNP, yet SNP have more seats.

I wanted UKIP to cause a bit of an earthquake in politics as i feel that the 'big' parties just don't listen to us little people.

Happy that the SNP did so well, disappointed but unsurprised that England voted Tory. The press and the spin favoured them heavily, therefore it happened. That's modern "democracy" at work, sadly.

What I really don't get is people saying "It won't affect me so I don't care either way". Really? . A Tory government is unlikely to affect me at all, some of their tax ideas might even make us slightly better off. Also, given the industry I work in, a Labour government could potentially have been a massive headache for me in the workplace. Massive.

You have to think a little bigger than your own personal circumstances with these things. Surely you do. Or I guess maybe not... Otherwise fewer people would be lurching right squealing "me me meee".

Plenty of votes, a measly 2 seats, but the defeat of Farage I think will probably spell the end of the UKIP era. He's their only convincing orator and he's been cobbled.

it just shows how the election is broken really, it shows how the pro establishment parties gain there seats so easy,it is fixed for them to gain there seats,if we had the election reforms, and a huge change to the map, torys and labour would never gain anywhere near 300, even parties like the greens and ukip would get nearly 90 seats if those reforms happened a day before the election vote was to start.

Thank goodness, was expecting it though, I'm gracious in defeat going to take Eds lead and be dignified enough to not respond to anyone seeking a rise.

I like to be gracious and magnanimous in 'defeat' or 'victory'. Gloating is largely abhorrent to me.

No,But not surprised tbh.Labour would have been the lesser of the two evils.I wanted to like Labour but just could'nt vote for them this time around. My vote made zero difference anyway but i would've preffered Labour to Con.

No as it's another 5 years of torture.

At least it's not a coalition with UKIP though because they did so bad at the Election despite all the Media hype.
