Then again if they were outright banned you'd probably get more official events

Why don't we just ban everything and go to bed at 10pm?

If they were working over the weekend they might have decided to have their party tonight, or it might be a birthday?

This post says what I expected to be honest.

the thing that bugs me and I say it every year - everyone is so worried about saving the earth and recycling to not cause damage to the earth yet they buy so much fireworks it undoes all the work they have ever done - hypercritical.

Unless I am going completely mad, I'm sure there was a point years ago that fireworks were banned except for organised events, then the law was changed again. Wonder why it was changed back.

Can't really relate to this since

1. We don't get fireworks that much here.
2. I don't have a pet.

I however disagree with banning something just because an animal is scared for 10 minutes of a 24-hour day. What do you expect anyway? It's Bonfire Night in a couple days, the fireworks will be over soon.

It is bloody ridiculous. Every night this past week they've been going off and scaring the dog, and of course in 2 days time it will be a constant for about 5 or 6 hours. The sooner they are banned the better.

It is far more than 10 minutes a day if you live in a big city.

Well said Locke.

NOWHERE did I state that it was "10 minutes out of a 24 hour day" and some people should learn to read properly. If it was "10 minutes" I would not be complaining.

If you don't like noise, then perhaps a "big city" isn't for you.

Yes, let me just pack up all my belongings, family, dog, and pay a fortune to move somewhere else because a few dickheads like setting fireworks off.

Why are they dickheads? That's a bit of an unjust insult to throw out to people you don't even know. Why should they stop doing what they like just because you don't like it? It's like Muslims trying to make non-Muslims eat halal during the whole Subway fiasco.

Where I live, until a few years ago, it was like that. For about a month before Bonfire Night it would be like being in a warzone every night.

But then I think the council, police and trading standards cracked down on sales of fireworks to under-18s, and now you virtually don't hear a firework going off until Bonfire night or the weekend near it.

I suggest that you re-read and COMPREHEND EXACTLY what I have written so that you do not MISREPRESENT it.

Oh i would run out of fireworks with all the idiots around setting them off right now. They should ban them. Let it just be an organized show on the night away from homes etc. I'm ok with that but i hate them letting fireworks off all over the place scaring animals especially. They need banning.

I'm sorry, a thread about fireworks suddenly became about Subway serving halal meat?

The comparison doesn't carry the same logic though.

If you don't agree with halal meat, you can choose not to eat it.
If you don't want fireworks disrupting your evening, you can't lower the volume. The noise is still there and seriously annoying.
