Im on FB and I hate cats and loathe being called a cat lady, it makes me so sad and I have palpitations, maybe one day it will give me a coronary and I might die and then what, you ot will be MURDERERS, from small acorns etc

My local breakfast radio presenter is a self-admitted "cat lady" and she's proud of that so

I don't know where the cats came into it. I've always called them "Facebook mums", the ones that are really vocal and loud and opinionated and always commenting on stuff on the website about how PC has gone mad and sharing pictures in support of the troops or poppies or against animal abuse. It's basically seen as why younger users have switched to Twitter, Snapchat and Tumblr (that and wanting older relatives not to see what you post )

Edit: could be because cat gifs/videos are popular on there I suppose?

It's to do with them being lonely and only having cats for comfort. Nothing wrong with that!
