Only thing I'd moan about re: Amazon Prime is that it takes the full subscription in one chunk rather than spreading it out over the year. Forgot about it last year (have had it for nearly 3 now) and it was quite the unwelcome dent in my wage the week after Christmas 2015.

And yeah this news is going to screw me over a bit. Have got 3 gifts left to post and haven't bought one of them yet

You can just cut out the middle-man though. Loads of couriers you can book through their website, and they'll collect the parcel from your door and deliver to where it needs to be, not Post Office ever involved. Part of why they're struggling, I'd imagine.

Just be wary of MyHermes - it was them who left my wife's brand new iPhone in the recycling bin of a house 4 doors down last year, leaving only a note saying "Blue Bin".

I'm pretty sure they do a monthly subscription now. It'll work out dearer over a year, but you can cancel it at any time rather than the full year upfront.

Because of British Customs taxes, extra costs are often out of the sellers control. Gifts over £36 and none gifts over £15 are subject 20% VAT. You will also be taxed on postage costs and admin.

Just poking myself into the Echo conversation above, they really do look good, but the whole only being allowed to set up in one room seems very inconvenient.

I'd want to listen to the radio in my room, but then take it into the kitchen and ask her to help out with recipes.

Sorry. I agree with the doctors/teaching assistant strikes, but these (and british airways staff...and any other random dickheads who want attention) need to **** off. Bandwagon jumpers. Post office staff and flight attendants are piss easy to replace so they shouldn't push their luck too much..

Post Offices are going to Close
they will merge into a WH SMITH store
