That group 1 are there because they are the important group who will provide the winner and group 2 is for old people so they don't complain. lol you know its true.

BB is for group 1 people. the young ones who will win. If 30's want to be apart of it, they should be allowed to watch, of course, but nothing more. lol

Interesting question, i've pulled last years ratings analysis from Goerillascope.com to give some idea of who is watching Big Brother.

These are the average figure(s) taken from BB7 data.

5.12m - average audience.

48% were Male viewers
52% were Female viewers

Age split

3% of viewers are aged 4 -10yrs
23% of viewers are aged 11 - 15yrs
44% of viewers are aged 16 - 24yrs
19% of viewers are aged 25 - 34yrs
6% of viewers are aged 35 - 44yrs
3% of viewers are aged45 - 65yrs
2% of viewers are aged 65+

so yes, some older people are watching but the vast majority of viewers are aged 11 to 24. (67%)

Also of interest is the type of viewers that watch the programme.
These are the social class figures from BB7. (i.e. upper class/working class etc.)

6% - A class
7% - B class
18% - C1 class
11% - C2 class
37% - D class
21% - E class

This is the social class (explained)

A - upper middle class - higher managerial, administrative or professional
B - middle class - intermediate managerial, administrative or professional
C1 - lower middle class - supervisory or clerical, junior managerial, administrative or professional
C2 - skilled working class - skilled manual workers
D - working class - semi and unskilled manual workers
E - those at lowest level of subsistence - unemployed, pensioners or widows (no other earner), students, casual or lowest grade workers.
