I think it's because of the reasons he was saying it, he was basically in other words saying he is attracted to black men not white. I think he would have got the boot had he been using it in a racist hateful way which I know probably sounds a bit silly as no one should use that word regardless of the context as it's a horrid and offensive word.

Yeah at above context does matter. Like it’s an awful word but it’s not on the level of like it being used vitriolically against a PoC

JC got way more backlash for using the n word in BBUS and I'm not sure why at all. This is honestly a much more questionable/offensive context than the BBUS situation even though Rodrigo didn't mean it maliciously so I wouldn't say it's awful either necessarily. (but in JC's case in BBUS he literally just said the word while explaining something without even really using it in his own speech/words like Rodrigo did --- if that makes sense lol)
