Seems strange they'd have multiple items like this, if it was just one it probably wouldnt have been as big of a deal as it is

may have been a job lot at auction, the auction house often stick items together or it could have been in a box of odds from a dead persons estate, the shop owner could have bought the box because it had a vase in it he liked - you cnat just win tjhe lot and hand pick the vase out you have to take the box

I know a few people who collect Nazi memorabilia. They're collectors, not Nazis.

They're period pieces. If someone is interested in the era that these black figures come from, I don't see that it necessarily makes them racist to want to own them. Wouldn't want them in my house though.

Hmmmm if they collect general WW2 memorabilia then that's different, or even German military memorabilia. If they SPECIFICALLY collect Nazi-related items I'd have some questions tbqfh, as I'd be tempted to say that's an "enthusiast" not a collector.

Likewise with some of the items in this thread (the Alabama one for instance), if someone wanted it as part of a collection of American / colonial items then that seems reasonable. If they simply have a massive collection of black caricatures, gollywogs and pictures of people with blackface... well... there's something else going on there isn't there.

If i went to my local auction tomorrow with a German Luger, bayonette and a few medals Id have my hand bitten off for them in the car park with wads of folding being pressed into my hand.

Lots of collectors

If it's German and military and dates between 1934 and 1945, it's Nazi.
