It’s a virtue signalling vom fest done purely for publicity and to get women to buy Gillette products for their husbands.
It’s all about the moneys as LT and TS said. They’ll go back to aiming their ads at men again soon. |

I’m assuming this term ‘Toxic masculinity’ is a derogatory term dreamed up by feminists for traditional masculinity which Piers has some views on here:

It must be a good advert if it’s got so many of the manly men in the world triggered like this, it’s clearly made a point about toxic masculinity

I don't see how it's "man hating", and I also doubt anyone would say stop buying their products just because their commercial is still banging on about #MeToo

Well some celebrities with big social media following have come out and said that they will stop buying. Piers even had a platform on national television to go against this this morning.

Firstly. Gillette is not the best a man can get....that’s a woman, or another man.
Secondly. Women shave with Gillette as well ![]() The 5 for a quid throwaways do the job for me ![]() |

Also, toxic masculinity doesn’t include men not wanting to cry or to be the one to look after their families, toxic masculinity is when a ladladlad in a club shouts abuse at a woman and calls her a dykey slag because she doesn’t want their peen in her, let’s not get it confused.

Id like them to do an advert that chastises women for using mens razors for shaving their bloody fannies and then thinking a man can use it after to shave HIS BLOODY FACE with

Just to do some race baiting
Notice in the advert that the men who are doing the pestering and man splaining to the women are white men and the knights in shining armour who come to their rescue are black men. It has to be this way or the advert wouldn't get the go ahead if it was reversed. Last edited by Alf; 15-01-2019 at 04:01 PM. |

So the advert is targeted at women. They will have market researched this through and through. This is also the reason by the way why the TV channel ITV (funded by adverts) is all about soaps and reality shows in prime-time these days. Also it has been proven that advertising works better on younger people - they are more likely to change their buying decision based on an advert. So they think the #metoo theme will work with them. Some (US) stats here about womens' purchasing power - https://girlpowermarketing.com/stati...g-power-women/ |
