My mam is a nurse and knows the strain on the NHS as it is so won’t let us go to the doctors for little things. I’m a bit ashamed to say I have the flu and begged her to let me go the doctors this morning for antibiotics but she refused! My auntie is terrible for it though. One of her kids only has to sneeze and she’s down the GP surgery battering the receptionists for drugs.

They would do literally nothing, might as well be prescribed a bag of Haribo (except those would taste better )

I can't remember the last time I was on antibiotics. I try to avoid them when it's possible and prefer to see if Paracetemol and Ibuprofen works before seeing the doctor and going on anything stronger.

They're for bacterial infections that are too much for your immune system to handle alone.

... But srsly guys get them if you get bacterial conjunctivitis. I waited too long and now my previously 20/20 eyesight is damaged . Distance + light + letters and numbers is a problem... So e.g. Subtitles on a screen more than about 8 feet away, or car number plates but only at night, blurry AF now but nothing else .

In fact I say they would do nothing... they would do something. They would kill good gut bacteria and give a nasty case of the skitters, alongside the original flu .

Drug-resistant superbugs are as big a threat as climate change, the health secretary will say as he unveils a new five-year plan to tackle the problem.

Overuse of antibiotics is making infections harder to treat and leading to thousands of deaths a year through drug-resistant superbugs.

The government plans to change the way it funds drug companies to encourage them to develop new medicines.

It is also increasing efforts to cut unnecessary use of the drugs.

I tell you what my darling...xx

I had a really bad back, if I sat in a van for too long I would hobble up to the front door like my granny did when she was in her 90s...then I pulled my big toenail out...it's been 1.5 yrs and nothing since.
