I'm not saying you aren't, it's just I think each countries own citizens need to worry about themselves. That's the best way to get real changes imo

...I thought this was a global thing..?...I’m sure it’s in Australia as well and parts of Europe...mothers speaking out for their children and the planet that will be their children’s future...well done to them in all countries involved......

I agree, I really don't get the outrage over something that's supposed to be positive

Well, like I said, the Chinese people don't get the information we do. And I just picked China because they have billions of people, they are a major polluter and when their people know about the pollution, they try to do something.

I wouldn't like to see the carnage a protest about the Chinese government, actually IN China, would cause.

I've written to the Chinese embassy on several occasions covering human rights, animal rights and the destruction of the coral reefs. There's nothing to say you can't target the people causing the most problems.

Just a personal opinion.

Of course not but targeting your own country/government shouldn't be poo poo'd just because China is worse either imo If we were only ever allowed to target worst cases, nothing would ever get done

How dare they try and make their voices heard, just stick to parenting, dumb women

It’s a shame people are put down for trying to make a difference

I hate what we are doing and have done to the planet, but I don't think protesting does much good , much rather go down to one of the beaches etc and clean what I could up , or just get litter picking, I do my bit if I can that is all I can do, yes I drive out of necessity but that's it ,my kids walk to school and the one who is too little goes on the school bus, no one is perfect and we cant help some of the stuff that happens, but imo if we all did our bit, or at least tried,it would be good, if people want to go protest that is up to them, but I hope they don't leave the mess behind the other lot did.

..I think because not everyone does do their bit and has been doing their bit over time and because there is too much pollution and health issues and too little thought etc...sometimes it has to be spoken out about though, which is what is happening today...

What are they hoping to achieve, I wonder? Most people recycle and try to do their bit, so who is their message for, exactly?

My office is in London and there are protests every day, disturbing people getting to work, blocking roads and pathways... This one was singled out because it is "mothers", like that makes them any more caring, any more worried about the future than someone who has no kids.

Anyhoo, I know mine's not a popular opinion, so I'll just carry on with my black bin, my green bin, my brown bin, saving water, saving power, refusing stuff that's over-packaged, not buying stuff wrapped in unrecyclable plastic, looking at an hybrid car (shudder...) and making sure my house is properly insulated. Because, what do I know?

Better off protesting at supermarkets, protest about the amount of plastic and packaging in use.
If the protests bring it to people’s attention, and it’s not getting in the way of people going about their day to day life then fine.
Every little bit helps.

The UK could go carbon neutral tomorrow and it wouldn't make an iota of difference to global warming. Until China, India and the USA are on board, we're wasting our time and money.
