There are plenty of outstanding actors that have difficulty picking up further acting gigs, it's not an unusual occurrence. Give the girl a break and let her lead her life

Hayley herself was a brilliant character, not that well written, so Kate did amazingly with what she was given, she wasn’t axed because she couldn’t act and as much as I love Kat, Jessie Wallace is hardly one of the best actresses on the show

She is.

She's not had much to do but when she has a good plot she's one of the best acting wise.

Jessie Wallace and Lacey Turner have proven outside of EastEnders just how fantastic they can be given the right material

If she was simply written out she'd have had a proper exit with Cherry going with her, concluding her story properly. As it is she left fairly abruptly after her attack.

Also what Marsh said. It was blatantly obvious Katie Jarvis herself quit after the glass attack.

She was glassed during a break when Hayley was in rehab and fully expected to return.
