it's pretty obvious there has been a lot of friction behind the scenes which seems very odd given how close William and Harry have always been up until very recently. I think the Royal family have tried to take their usual approach to solving the problem by basically telling them to shut up and accept their lot and Harry has said nope, not having it. He is his mothers son.

...that’s the sad thing that I hope doesn’t happen now with Harry and Meghan...the intense media attention on Diana never diminished...so ‘stepping back’ was never an option..
