Tributes have been paid to former British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, who died next Monday, while in the custody of the FBI in Murica.

Ms Maxwell was an alleged confidante to former financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was arrested last year on sex trafficking charges.

Epstein committed suicide in prison, allegedly kicking himself to death, while under 24/7 watch.

Mr Epstein had links to high profile powerful people, with suggestions that he might have provided underage girls for their sexual gratification.

Prison authorities told us that those links had nothing to do with Mr Epstein topping himself, in a deranged attack of self harm that continued for an alleged 5 hours, before he succumbed to his injuries.

Guards, tasked with his security were reported as gone for a pee or something, so they saw nothing.

Following Epstein popping his clogs, Ms Maxwell disappeared from public, until this morning, when she was arrested, in New Hampshire somewhere in Murica.

A spokesperson for the prison service told us that he's "danged if I know how Ms Maxwell died" but told us that "this **** can happen".

In a statement, the authorities confirmed that a British national passed away, on Monday next while in prison custody, but they cannot give any further details.

In Britain, government sources spoke of their surprise at the news, while a spokesperson for the Royal family spoke of huge relief, sorry sadness at the news.

She won't reveal anything unless she's getting a deal unfortunately. I just can't see big players being caught though (as much as i hope that happens)

...she may have felt some kind of loyalty toward Epstein but will she toward others who may have involvement..?...it’ll be interesting, won’t it...I just hope that whatever ensues, she spends the rest of her life in prison...(...and not in the way that Epstein did when he went to prison and seemed to come and go as he pleased..)...

Wasn't that crazy? It was like when pablo Escabar agreed to go to prison and built the prison himself :/ Isn't scary though how much you truly can get away with if you have a bit of money and know a few powerful people

that's the general feeling, some say he fell off the boat, but all the news was going to break of him robbing the pensions funds of his employees so it's more likely suicide. The whole family are crooks

If evidence is brought against Andrew, could anything even be done to him? He'd be immune to prosecution, right? Hopefully, if evidence does come to light, they can strip him of his immunity but I couldn't say if that's even a possibility.

As far as I can tell this gets a bit complicated. In the UK only the direct heir line is immune from arrest (so currently Queen, Charles, William, li'l George) but there's some weird law that no one can be legally arrested in the Queen's presence without her permission.

But, none of the crimes he's accused of happened in the UK, so he would need to be extradited for an arrest/charges to happen. That's highly unlikely to EVER happen. But even if it did, that's when diplomatic immunity comes into play... IF he was in the US as an official diplomat at the time that the alleged crimes occurred, he may well have been under diplomatic immunity.
