I know it does still FEEL like it's old-fashioned-ish but I'm sure the dates are explicitly mentioned. Also the teenagers have smartphones etc.

Subbed over dubbed though always . The show has a very "German" feel to it, doesn't feel right to have them speaking anything other than German .

I get too distracted to read subtitles also my eye sight isn't fantastic either. I did think the dubbing worked well with German though because English looks similar to German when it's spoken, the voices suited the characters too i thought. It was much better than Money Heist but I actually found the bad dubbing added to the charm of that

...I don’t get 2019, in the time that Mikkel went home...I thought he was time travelling at first but he was in 1986 and when he asked the police officer, he was in 1986 as well, but didn’t know him...so then I’m thinking that it’s more, a parallel universe...but it’s still time because they’re older and younger versions of themselves.../...confusing...and Ariadne's thread has been mentioned ...so it makes sense that a trail is being followed back and forward through a maze/time gateway...the sheep and the birds are confusing, are they in the time maze as well and not surviving it....
