...oh, so little choice of the amount of guests and contact we can have..and not even trusted guests were the ones chosen chosen...and the thought of that person ‘Selling’ and the media buying...when potentially they themselves could be responsible for infection which could possibly lead to death as the worst thing...incredible, they can’t even go to the shops to spend their money etc as a ‘reward’ for placing lives at risk...

something like the rule of 6 is obviously a guideline based on an arbitrary number, the intention is to stop large gatherings from different households, so the law will be more flexibly enforced. I personally see a big difference in impact/severity between an extra guest attending an event and someone willfully travelling on public transport after testing positive

...but it isn’t at all a ‘guideline’ if a fine can be applied if the police come a knocking while you’re having starters...which it can...

the police always have the discretion to issue a warning and only fine on repeat offences and that happens a lot. It's never black and white. Again, something like travelling on public transport after testing positive is a completely different matter

...oh that isn’t what was reported a few days ago with the Jeremy Corbyn/Stanley Johnson stuff when it was screamed...will they be fined etc...a police official..(...can’t recall who...)...said that the reason that they wouldn’t be fined is because a fine can’t be applied as an after the act...it has to be during and caught in the act...

...I’m not being difficult, I’m just not really understanding and so much seems to be confusing information...he says potato, she says potahto...

i don't think people should be fined at all personally, i think it's way over the edge in authoritarianism. Prosecute people who don't quarantine and let people live their lives

...but they are still fining and apparently on a first offence’ not repeat offence...which makes more sense anyway because ...because otherwise it’s saying...well, if you cause infection or even death to someone this first time, then think on, that wasn’t very clever... but we’ll give you a warning...but if you keep repeating those infections/possible deaths you’re darn well going to have to pay a bit of money...

we say we don't have enough police to handle serious crime and yet they are expected to fine households with more than 6 having a family dinner ... it's not even funny any more

We all have personal choice in this, we can't force others to do things they don't want to do, we all make our own choices and try and follow the rules as best we can...

...no it most certainly isn’t funny, bots...I agree...but it is as you say, not black and white because if we use the analogy of reckless driving and endangerment to lives...?...then a conviction and fine would apply but it isn’t something that can easily be enforced for sure...so far as serious crime goes, though...then obviously with the lives it’s taking before their time as it were ...and especially when ‘reckless’ can be applied also...then it’s surely right up there with ‘serious’ because this is all of our lives now...this is our new world that we never could have dreamed of...
