when you buy a washing machine dont plug it in and wonder why its not working. They dont come with water inside them, you need to "plumb them in" using pipes etc



also give someone near spare keys so when you inevitable forget yours or lose them you can get in

also keep your dish drying cloth away fae the cooker rings and get a SMOKE ALARM

Also a random thing make sure you have pain killers, plasters, bandages ect as you don't realise how handy they will come,

Also stuff like tin foil, cling film and food containers for when cooking
