So this is a done deal? Don't the shareholders have to agree to sell?

They get Richer. [Under the terms of the deal, shareholders will receive $54.20 in cash for each share of Twitter stock they own, matching Musk's original offer and marking a 38% premium over the stock price the day before Musk revealed his stake in the company.] |

There are other social networks that are more successful in terms of user numbers and revenue, but Twitter is more influential.
Its influence is actually disproportional to its users. Code:
Top 10 Social Media Platforms Compared Revenue Launched 1 Facebook $86 billion 2004 2 YouTube $19.8 billion 2005 3 Whatsapp $5 billion 2009 4 Instagram $6.8 billion 2010 5 TikTok $35 billion 2016 6 Snapchat $911 million 2011 7 Reddit $212.5 million 2005 8 Pinterest $1,693 million 2010 9 Twitter $3.72 billion 2006 10 LinkedIn $8.05 billion 2003 The Top 10 Social Media Apps by Monthly Active Users 1 Facebook - 2.7 billion 2 YouTube - 2 billion 3 Whatsapp - 2 billion 4 Instagram - 1.16 billion 5 TikTok - 689 million 6 Snapchat - 433 million 7 Reddit - 430 million 8 Pinterest - 416 million 9 Twitter - 353 million 10 LinkedIn - 310 million I never realised Whatsapp was so popular. |

What's Elon gonna find that they've been upto? Have they been working with governments? Have they been giving out people's personal details to governments and organisations? Have they been selectivly silencing people to control the narrative? Is that why they panicked about him taking over?

I don't agree. Our government can't even cover up a party they had. What chance have they got against Elon's money?

If it was any government it would be the US government, not the UK government. $40 billion is chump-change to the US if it was to cover up anything significant... and they wouldn't even have to fork out that much to pay off enough Twitter shareholders to stop the purchase.

i think twitter made some bad decisions without working through justifications and implications and left itself open to accusations of unfairness. Its quite possible that it was influenced by politics, but at the end of the day, that chapter is closing and a new one begins
Musk could easily drive it into the ground and the platform could be dead within a year |
