I'm glad you see it, Arista. We've had a right wing party take 12 years to destroy public services, the NHS and our economy. A right wing party may win the next election, but will have no desire to fix any of the things that have been broken.

All, yes ALL political Parties have their shady characters and sides to them.
Politics across the board in the UK is a corrupt place and has been for some time. It's really odd those who advocated Corbyn as the second coming don't recall the dismay and hurt and the shady and really bad elements under him which saw even Jewish MPs of long standing leave. Those slamming Labour now were supporting Labour UNDER Corbyn to the hilt no matter what then. I supported the Party on policy but never Corbyn. Plus it was obvious issues were there, serious ones. I was a member then as now and while I never accepted Labour was riddled with antisemitism there were pockets of it. Which people dismissed as only getting at Corbyn. So Labour was likely far shadier then. The independent inquiry showed the party was not riddled with antisemitism but there were issues. It also felt the leadership should have acted more strongly as to it. Which was what I saw in the Party. As a member I even said on here, had that fully independent inquiry found Labour to be riddled with antisemitism I would certainly leave. Now as then there are things which still need sorting and anyone who has a PROVEN and serious past set of issues as to anything should be called to account. It is however rich to now claim Labour is really shady while avoiding the other Parties issues too. Also unbelievably avoiding Corbyn's time as leader where equally so shady characters and practices ended up being proven to be evident too. There likely isn't in the World ANY Party without shady characters or things about the Party . There was under Corbyn in Labour and there will be now still too. As in ALL UK Parties. NONE are immune as to that. Politics needs ripping up and re-setting from a whole new start. Because under the current system of politics in the UK. Nothing will ever really change. In any and all political Parties. Last edited by joeysteele; 10-11-2022 at 03:37 PM. |

We spoke about all this before, and you seemed to understand what had happened, but after a little dispute today you start spewing labour right nonsense. You knew better, once. Corbyn invited the labour right in - with people like Watson, Starmer has purged the left and attacks us more than tories.

You really are more insulting my integrity now. No dispute just that I now firmly do NOT agree with you, as vice versa is the case. I've never altered my view or thinking at all however think what you will. I'm not entertaining this nonsense. Right wing thinking doesn't want nationalising of energy, water and railways. Realism however dictates that would be harder now at this time. I would support all those things. Nothing is achieved in opposition, if a Party cannot and doesn't win elections then they can't get anything addressed or done. I don't take away loyalty easy once I've given it.. I don't agree with you and you don't agree with me. However I'll do nothing myself to assist this Con Party in any shape or form. |

If a party can't win elections on it's principles, then you lose elections and you make the arguments again, you don't change your principles. Because any person that sacrifices principles for power is craven and doesn't have your interest at heart. Starmer has been given the gift of tory fcuk up after tory fcuk up. He has the opportunity to push a slightly more progressive agenda (you know, the stuff he lied about to get elected) because it is in direct opposition to the tories who are historically unpopular, but he isn't, he's going further and further to the right. He's basically telling everyone he's a more competent tory. If you think it's possible he switches from this, to nationalising energy, then that's fair enough. I remain sceptical, however. Re-nationalisation remains overwhelmingly popular with the gbp due to what is happening at the moment, and he's too much of a coward to stand behind it in this climate, so good luck if you think a new set of front door keys is going to offer different solutions to the tories. My loyalties are not to Corbyn, it's to his policies and principles. If he came out tomorrow and and said we have too many foreigners in the nhs, and Suella should be deporting more people, then I would have no interest, but you and I both know he would never do that.

Frankly I'm not bothered at your questioning my integrity because I know I haven't budged an inch from my thoughts before and I KNOW that. So my integrity stays intact in my view. I'm not going to keep going round in circles |
