And don't forget that Ellie T topped a night with these judges.

I honestly think that if Hamza hadn't have had his Salsa and Couples Choice performances we'd be having another Rose type of winner, where someone completely unremarkable in their performances wins the Show.

I mean it's honestly not the end of the world that he won, and Hamza as a person seems like a really nice guy, but to me it's absurd that the public snubbed Fleur on the night, and tbh in general throughout the series when she probably has the best collection of dances for this particular series.

Along with Molly tbf.

I agree with all that.

I do think Strictly needs to assess itself and how the judging is done.
Plus the voting too.

No matter their personal view no judge should be showing preferences for one or more contestants and not others.

Admittedly it is an entertainment show and it is to be fair.

The 3 things I'd do is cut the judges to 3 so no need for a head judge at all to overrule 2 others.

The dance off, I'd scrap doing the same dance already voted on by the judges, and have the dance off couples doing the same dance to be judged on.

I'd also make it that the public vote decides who goes only from the quarter final stage.
That probably wouldn't help but something needs to be done re the public voting too.
I haven't a thought on that.

However there's too much inconsistency from at least 2 of the judging panel as to their comments and then the marks they dish out.
To the ones they like or to the ones they clearly don't care for.
That's NOT professional even in a more light hearted competitive setting.

The way I see it ....I'm so use to Strictly doing this , I'm just glad all the finalists were likeable this year. And it's still an amazing achievement that Vito & Carlos made the final ....as newbies.

And I'm still happy for Hamza and his partner and her first win as a newbie.

I know not everyone will agree with me ,but tbh I've seen a ugly side of Gorka... I saw a clip of his reaction.

And lovely Fleur and Molly and even Helen are all cheering Hamza on for winning. And Gorka looks like someone poured salt & vinegar on his cornflakes. Helen had to drag him by the hand to congratulate Hamza.

Does he not think Fleur or Molly wanted to win aswell??? ...look how badly they got treated , if anything Gorka should be happy that he never had to do a dance off with Helen .

Everyone knows what they signed up for with strictly, and loads of celebs have been robbed over the years, yet they just accept defeat graciously . His reaction is pure sour arrogance. I'm not a fan of his anymore .

I thought Helen should have won, her and Gorka were my picks from early on and they danced great last night.

I'm happy for Hamza and Jowita though....I have such a girl crush on her

I actually think Hamza will have won by a good margin if we ever were to get the voting figures.

Definitely not my choice to win on the final night.
However I've expected this for weeks as really he has been overmarked by the judges week after week.

I agree with Mock, that Fleur and Molly likely didn't have the public voting base.
That's unfortunate because they really stepped up in the final.

There was likely only Helen of the last 4 who could have had the chance to win over Hamza.
I fear she too was however a fair way behind Hamza in votes.

It is true however too that now Strictly IS more a popularity contest of the chosen celebrities to be on the show.
Where the actual dancing becomes secondary once the public and even some of the judges, become attached to any particular celebrity.

Well done to Hamza certainly.
He only needed to get more public votes than any of the others which he did manage.
It doesn't alter that in that final he made errors and wasn't the best of the 4 finalists at all.

I do agree with Kate here, those 3 female contestants were awesome in the final.
Definitely one of them should have been rewarded with the win this year.
In my opinion obviously.

Read the post properly Nicky.
Don't just quote 2 words.
Then take them.out of the full context.

I wasn't referring to BEFORE the series but DURING it.

yes, his popularity increased massively during the series, true

and in terms of what bull**** the media writes, i tend to ignore it, because most of the time that is just made up nonsense for clicks, drama, likes

i really thought Helen was a certainty to win it, glad that wasn't the case otherwise i would've never watched this version again, if we talk about someone who could do no wrong in eyes of certain judges (Motsi, Shirley, Anton) and who always got perfect music choices, perfect dresses

and no, i have remained loyal to my fave until he got eliminated and i actually remained neutral right up until last night and i just also thought Hamza had more vote winning dances than the other 3 (good choices anyway, especially their own fave dance choice, Jerusalema is a pure crowdpleaser of a bop and it is always so much more fun to see the pro also just have a good time rather than solely focus on wether her celeb partner is doing things right)

Molly had the better showdance of the 4 i guess, going for something we haven't seen before from her, rather than a best bits one

Molly wasn't really known before Strictly.

Fleur has always been controversial tbf.

And Helen I feel had a slow first half of the competition, so unfortunately for her that probably harmed her vote versus Hamza who made a more striking impression in the first half of the competition.

I didn't know who Molly was prior to Strictly, but then again ...I usually don't recognise a few of the celebs on these shows .

But in the end Molly became a strong favourite of mine along with Fleur .

Molly was considered a ringer. Fleur was too much of a try hard and no one likes a try hard.

When a dancer is consistently in the bottom two; no matter how good they are the public are telling the judges they are not going to win. The judges should listen to the public and not have this scenarios where two of the finalist are clearly not popular with the public.

Hamza wasn't the best but Mollie or Fleur didn't stand a chance. I was expecting Helen to win because shes a popular BBC figure. I never thought Mollie or Fleur would win

I also agree with Annie. Hamza partner, the lovely Jowita has quickly become my favourite pro dance. I have a crush on her too.

I just watched it on catch up, I really don't think Hamza was Shirleys' favourite tbh ,she gave some lovely comments to Fleur , I don't think it was fixed ,I just think Hamza was liked by the public more, I thought they were all excellent and was happy with whoever won.

I don't watch Strictly but weren't the other finalists already experienced in performing and had some dancing in their background? If that's the case surely the guy who didn't is a deserved winner

It's a no win situation Niamh, the tabloid rags tried to expose Hamza as some 'michael flatley'. But then people are still saying he wasn't the best dancer ...so they can't make their mind up .

He IS , but some silly rag newspaper ...had an image of him dancing or something. So people were saying he had previous experience. Which is silly ,as it's obvious Hamza ISN'T a professional dancer .

But every year there's always a debate over who has & hasn't had previous dance experience, but like I've said aslong as James Jordan doesn't sneak back into the competition as a amateur...then I don't care lol ,as all these celebrities are still out their comfort zone, and non of them were professionals.

Don't worry she will be all over Nicky's profile again in no time. Everyone is sick of this thing he does all the time! Almost as bad as Michael21!
