The thing that's ruining Cricket is the same thing that's currently ruining Football and F1, which is a lack of big personalities within Cricket.

I mean this was the same Sport that at one time had Freddie Flintoff, Michael Vaughan, and Shane Warne participating at the same time, now they're all incredibly dull.

I'm talking about current Cricketers and Footballers and F1 drivers having zero personality.

And tbf I get what you're saying to a point about the box ticking in general (not just with women) but my biggest issue personally is a lack of personality in our current Sports stars and Pundits, and again it's not just the women or POC like I know that some people on the Internet might suggest (and I'm not meaning you btw, Zizu) because Plank from Ed, Edd n' Eddy every Saturday is proof that it's not just the Political “box tickers" that are lacking charisma because he is a white dude.

Those three were on episode 12 of Martin Mystery that I watched a few days back.

Punditry isn't a problem for me because ever since i can remember i rarely watch any build up for games (unless very big Chelsea games). At HT i don't listen to any of them talk, usually just check X and other SM stuff to see what's being said. And after the game, again unless a big game for Chelsea, or something highly controversial has happened in game, i turn off. I don't need to listen to them talk me through what i've just watched. Men, women, i have little interest in their "analysis"

There are a few commentators i have genuine disdain for though, people like Steve McManaman. Michael Owen and Lee Dixon, their commentary is beyond awful. Presenter wise, meh, dunno really. I watch most of my games on streams for free, so it's usually US or AUS coverage. Will say this though, i cannot stand Alex Scott, she's on the BBC for the most part, but again, easily avoided, switch over 1 min before kick off, make a cuppa at HT, then switched off after the final whistle.

I was brought up around cricket. My Dad and brother played and so I was there every week (when my mum and Dad argued as a kid it was always about how much he was at the club lol)...I used to score for the local 1st eleven and my mum used to help in the tea room. My brother still plays, his kids all play too and two of them play at county level for their age groups
My brother played for Lancs second team when he was younger.

I go with my Dad every year to watch the Manchester Originals....he's not a huge fan of the format but its a fun day out.
