The new theme is decent on a small screen (phones) but I switched the desktop back straight away. Nothing will beat classic Light Blue on desktop I'm afraid.

Just to be annoying and point out James - you should be able to set a different default for phone browsers and computer browsers with a small bit of vb code. I have to agree that the new theme isn't great on a "proper" screen.

You can use the menu at the bottom-left off the page to set a theme for your desktop browser, and a different theme for your mobile browser.

I might change the font on the desktop view of the new theme, if people think it will be clearer. I can do a few other tweaks also.

Yes but people are lazy and incompetent . You can set the site to "know" whether it's on a desktop or mobile version of a browser and set the default theme accordingly.

Anyway, I've decided that I don't like the new one on phone either: it doesn't show the "date/time of the last post" on the thread list. TiBB is fairly slow-moving today so that's sort of vital for knowing if a thread is active.

Do you mean the thread list in each forum eg.' General Chat? That doesn't show the last post time on mobile, but the New Posts and Today's Posts links show it, and also uses bold text for threads when they have new posts you haven't read.

I mean the list for each forum, obviously I want to be able to see the Serious Debates real threads without having to wade through all of the Chat & Games chaff .

Another option (in the Chrome browser at least) is to use the 'Desktop Site' option in the browser menu.

I have darkened the font on the new themes. So the text is clearer now, with more contrast.

What a guy James is. He deserves more respect than he's given. He keeps this place running for us all.

I have given him some backchat in the past. But never out of disrespect. And he's always been such a respectful guy that I could never get the better of him.

We have a great well rounded guy leading this forum. That's why it's stood the test of time when other forums have deceased.
