I usually read the manifestos and make a decision off that. Same with General Elections. I’ve voted in four general elections and across those have voted for 3 different parties (Lib Dem, Conservatives, Conservatives, Labour) for various reasons.

However it will never be Green or Reform.

Yes I almost spoilt my ballot last time too.

Unfortunately I can’t say I have ever voted for a party a because I thought they’d be good, just that they’d be the least worst. A very sorry state of affairs.

it won't save labour. Not all regions vote every time in the local elections. If regions are merging, they just go with which was the bigger region and take it's election cycle. Nothing dodgy about it. Labour will be expected to lose badly in this cycle, so thats nothing new, its how good the other parties perform that is important

Ch4HDnews 7PM in Hull
did a special studio debate,
First, a report, showed that NOC could appear more
Having no overall control, is not good.

Steve Read MP for Labour was there
Kevin Hollinrake MP For Conservatives
Deputy Lib Dem MP Lady
Green Co-Deputy Leader MP Fella
Alan Wilson, Reform UK, London Assembly

Wilson warned of the Massive Debts of councils.

Steve Read MP had it easy by kept saying 14years
of cut backs

The Audience asked tough questions

There's not a vote held where I live this year.
So I could opt out of this discussion and it may be wise to have done so.
However no, if there was voting in my area then I'd still be voting Labour.
However barely so and only because I usually don't judge governments after only months.
Despite despicable policies it was 3 years on from 2010 that I lost all faith or trust in the Con/LibDem coalition then went over to Labour.

These local elections are going to likely be really bad for Labour though ( they barely had 29% in these elections in 2021),as they were for the LibDens too in 2011 from getting shared power in only 2010.
However it looks too like the conservatives are going to get hammered too.
Which now, in opposition with a very unpopular currently government, shouldn't be the case.

The Mayoral elections are going to be interesting.
Plus the by-election which I think Labour could and should lose, for why this by-election came about in the first place.

However my disillusionment with politics at present, will after these elections only increase.
A mix of dismay and despair even that the narcissistic Farage will probably be grinning even more ear to ear and his awful more hate filled Party against other human beings, being rewarded for that more prejudice.

It will now be very interesting and these are more Conservative councils up for election this time.
So it will be interesting to see IF Reform takes lots of seats off the Conservatives but then put the Conservatives back into leading running that council.
Plus to see if Reform lead in a Council what the Conservatives do.
Will they put Reform in and enable more success for them.

These elections will raise lots of issues for Badenoch, she can't claim mid term anti government blues now.
How will her more running to join the policies on some issues of Farage and Reform now play out in these local elections.
Only a handful of votes often decide the seats in loads of council seats.
So on a low turnout as usual, it will be interesting to see what actually happens this time.

Yes Joey,

NOC I hate
That slows everything down.

If that expert on Ch4HDnews just before the debate
was correct,
NOC is taking over good councils

With both major parties really eliminating a lot of good will, I think we'll be seeing a lot of Green and Reform candidates filling seats.

Having my traditional post vote pint after voting in the mayoral election

I was honestly very torn between Reform and Conservative even though I don't like Reform really

This will be a relief to have held these especially the Doncaster one too.
However how close these contests ended up being.

I won't join in with pathetic childish jibing.
So will now also here congratulate Reform on how close they came to taking these Mayoral positions too.
